How Hit-and-Run Crashes Can Affect Injury Cases
Hit-and-run crashes can create added challenges after an accident. Injured people may need medical care before all details about the other vehicle are known. Early reports often focus on the location, number of people hurt, and traffic impact.
Highway crashes can also increase the risk of secondary collisions. Fast-moving traffic, lane closures, and limited shoulder space may make the scene more dangerous for drivers and emergency units. Clearing damaged vehicles quickly can help reduce further hazards.
Injuries from car accidents are not always apparent right away, as the body’s adrenaline response can mask pain for hours or even days after the crash. Delayed injuries like whiplash, back and spinal damage, traumatic brain injuries, and internal bleeding can be life-threatening without visible symptoms. A hospital evaluation using imaging like X-rays or CT scans can detect injuries that are not evident right away, making prompt medical attention critical even when you feel fine.
