Prince George’s County, MD (April 28, 2026) – One driver was killed following a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning, April 28, in Prince George’s County. The collision occurred around 6:50 a.m. on Laurel-Bowie Road near the intersection with Old Laurel Bowie Road.

Police responded to the scene after reports of a crash involving two vehicles. Investigators said both male drivers were injured in the collision and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that one of the drivers later died from his injuries. The second driver sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized.

The cause of the crash has not been released. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the victim and are thinking of the injured driver as he continues to receive medical care.

Why Two-Vehicle Morning Commute Crashes Can Be Severe

Crashes during early morning commute hours often involve higher traffic volume combined with limited visibility and time pressure. These conditions can reduce reaction time for drivers and increase the likelihood of severe impacts.

Investigators typically review speed, lane positioning, and driver movement leading up to the collision. Intersections like Laurel-Bowie Rd and Old Laurel Bowie Rd are common conflict points where turning vehicles and through traffic may intersect. Emergency response teams prioritize medical care at the scene while investigators later work to reconstruct the sequence of events based on physical and witness evidence.
