What Risks Are Associated With Electric Scooters at Intersections?
Electric scooters are small and can be difficult for drivers to see, especially at intersections where vehicles approach from multiple directions. This can increase the risk of a collision when paths cross.
Children riding scooters may also have limited experience judging traffic speed and distance. This can affect how they enter or cross roadways, particularly in areas without clear separation from vehicle traffic.
Intersections often require quick decisions from both drivers and riders. When timing or visibility is off, even slightly, it can lead to serious crashes involving vulnerable road users like scooter riders.
