Eureka Township, MI (August 1, 2026) – A Greenville man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle along S Berridge Rd in Eureka Township on Thursday morning.
The fatal collision happened around 10:19 a.m. on July 30. According to deputies, 65-year-old Randy Vandenburg was riding his bicycle on the shoulder of S Berridge Rd near W Fletcher Rd when a northbound Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 51-year-old Greenville woman struck him from behind.
Vandenburg was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said it was not immediately known whether he was wearing a helmet at the time. The driver was not injured, and investigators reported she was not wearing a seat belt.
The investigation into what led to the wreck is continuing, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
