Bottineau Co., ND (August 28, 2026) – Two drivers suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon, August 26, in a two-vehicle rear-end crash at Highway 28 and Highway 5. The collision happened at approximately 5:04 p.m.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a Ford Taurus was traveling south on Highway 28 when it struck the rear of a Lincoln Aviator that was stopped at a stop sign. After the collision, the Ford caught fire.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were transported for medical care.
The Highway Patrol said the 32-year-old Ford driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. A preliminary breath test showed a breath alcohol concentration of .174, according to the agency.
The crash remains under investigation. We hope both injured drivers make a full recovery.
