Greenville County, SC (August 20, 2026) – A three-vehicle collision involving a school bus left three people hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon, August 18, on I-385 South near mile marker 31. It happened around 12:47 p.m., according to troopers.
A Honda Accord and a Ford Mustang were driving recklessly at a high rate of speed when the Accord attempted to pass the Mustang, troopers said. The Mustang then changed lanes and caught the back of the Accord, sending it spinning into a Greenville County Schools bus. Both the Accord and the bus struck the median barrier.
No children were riding the bus at the time. The bus driver and an aide were hospitalized with minor injuries, along with a juvenile passenger in the Accord.
The drivers of the Mustang and Accord were cited for reckless driving. The left lane was blocked while crews responded.
