What Investigators Review in Intersection Crashes Involving Large Trucks
Crashes at highway intersections involving passenger vehicles and semi-trucks often require detailed reconstruction of vehicle movements. Investigators typically examine which direction each vehicle was traveling and how each entered the intersection before impact.
Traffic control at the junction is also reviewed, including whether stop signs or other signals were followed. Because large trucks require longer stopping distances, speed and timing play a key role in understanding how the collision developed.
Road surface conditions, visibility, and vehicle damage patterns are also assessed; these details help reconstruct how the impact occurred and the sequence of events leading up to the crash.
