What Is Commonly Reviewed After Intersection Crashes on State Highways?
After crashes at highway intersections, investigators often examine traffic flow, vehicle direction, and right-of-way conditions before impact. Intersections connecting local roads and state highways can create crossing conflicts when vehicles enter from different directions.
Airbag deployment and vehicle damage patterns are also reviewed to help determine the collision’s severity and angle. These details may provide insight into vehicle speed and occupant movement during impact.
Road conditions and visibility are additional factors commonly documented during investigations. Dry pavement, weather conditions, and roadway signage can all help explain how the crash unfolded.
