Rocklin, CA (March 27, 2026) – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 65 in Rocklin.
The accident occurred around 7:37 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, along the southbound lanes of Rte 65 just north of Blue Oaks Blvd. Early reports indicate the crash involved a motorcycle, a white pickup truck, and a Nissan Rogue SUV.
The motorcycle was found down on the right side of the roadway following the collision. The other vehicles involved reportedly pulled over onto the shoulder after the impact.
At least one person, believed to be the motorcyclist, was seriously injured in the crash. Two off-duty nurses reportedly stopped at the scene and assisted until emergency units arrived.
Traffic was affected during the response, as two southbound lanes were blocked for a period, slowing movement through the remaining open lane during the morning commute.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care and recover.
Why Motorcycle Crashes on Highways Can Lead to Severe Injuries
Motorcycles offer far less physical protection than passenger vehicles. Without the frame, airbags, and other safety systems found in cars, riders are more exposed during a collision.
Highway crashes can be particularly serious because vehicles are often traveling at higher speeds. Even a brief loss of control or contact with another vehicle can cause a motorcycle to fall or slide across the roadway.
Traffic density during morning commutes may also increase risk. Vehicles frequently change lanes or adjust speed, which can create sudden situations for nearby riders.
Protective gear such as helmets, jackets, and gloves can help reduce the severity of injuries. Road awareness, careful spacing between vehicles, and predictable lane positioning are also factors that can help improve safety for motorcyclists sharing busy highways.
