Why Rollover Crashes Usually Result in Serious Injuries
Rollover crashes can expose vehicle occupants to violent changes in direction and multiple impacts as a vehicle overturns. Even when only one vehicle rolls over, emergency responders frequently treat the incident as potentially life-threatening because of the increased risk of severe trauma.
When another vehicle leaves the scene, investigators must first determine how the rollover occurred before establishing each vehicle’s role in the collision. Physical evidence, vehicle damage, debris, tire marks, and witness statements can all help reconstruct the sequence of events.
Authorities may also review surveillance footage, traffic cameras, and other available evidence to identify the fleeing vehicle and those connected to it. These investigative steps help clarify what happened while supporting any subsequent enforcement actions.
