What Can Cause a Tractor-Trailer to Overturn?
A tractor-trailer can become unstable after a sudden impact or abrupt steering movement. A collision with another vehicle may cause the truck to shift direction quickly, increasing the risk of a rollover. The truck’s load, speed, roadway conditions, and point of impact can also affect its stability.
Rollover crashes can block multiple highway lanes and create additional traffic hazards. Clearing an overturned commercial vehicle may require specialized equipment because of its size and weight. Medical evaluations can help determine the extent of injuries, while vehicle damage and roadway evidence can provide information about how the crash unfolded.
