Frequently Asked Questions
Does speed make a crash worse? Yes. Higher speed gives a driver less time to react and increases the force involved in any impact, which raises the chance of serious injury.
Why is distracted driving considered so risky? Taking eyes or attention off the road for even a few seconds means a driver can miss a stopped vehicle, a lane change, or a hazard ahead until it's too late to avoid it.
How do weather and road conditions factor into crashes like this one? Wet pavement, fog, glare, or debris can reduce traction and visibility, making it harder for drivers to judge distance or stop in time, especially around trucks and multi-vehicle traffic.
What should someone do right after a car accident? Check for injuries, call 911, move to a safe location if possible, and exchange information with other drivers. Even if injuries seem minor, a medical check and a written report can matter later.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Russellville, KY
Anyone involved in a multi-vehicle crash should get checked by a medical provider promptly, even if pain develops only hours or days afterward, since injuries like whiplash or internal bruising aren't always obvious right away. It helps to keep copies of any police report, photos of the scene, and names of witnesses while details are still fresh. Residents of Russellville dealing with vehicle damage or medical follow-up after a crash should also notify their insurance company as soon as possible and keep records of any treatment or missed work tied to the incident.
