Frequently Asked Questions
How do weather and road conditions affect crash risk?
Wet pavement, glare, and reduced visibility can all make it harder for drivers to judge gaps in traffic or stop in time, especially during turns at busy intersections.
What should I do right after a car accident?
Move to a safe spot if possible, call 911, exchange information with the other driver, and get checked by a medical provider even if injuries seem minor, since some symptoms appear later.
Where do most traffic crashes happen?
A large share of crashes occur at intersections, where turning vehicles and crossing traffic create the most opportunities for a driver to misjudge another vehicle's path or speed.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Paducah, KY
If you're involved in a crash near a school zone or busy intersection in Paducah, start by checking yourself and any passengers for injuries, then move to a safe area if your vehicle is drivable. Call 911 so officers can document the scene and arrange medical help if needed. Even if you feel fine, a follow-up visit with a doctor is worth it, since soft-tissue injuries and concussions don't always show symptoms right away. Take photos of the vehicles and surroundings if you're able, and get the names and contact information of any witnesses nearby. Keep a copy of the official crash report for your records, and give yourself time to rest and recover in the days that follow.
