Sacramento, CA (January 26, 2026) – An injury accident involving multiple vehicles was reported late January 25 on the southbound side of Interstate 5 near J St in Sacramento, according to emergency radio traffic and dispatch logs. The collision occurred shortly before midnight and involved at least a white Chevrolet, a white SUV, and another SUV that may have struck a guardrail.
Initial reports indicated a non-injury crash, but the incident was later upgraded to an injury accident, with emergency medical services dispatched to the scene. CHP officers arriving in the area found one of the involved vehicles off the roadway near the Motel 6 parking lot, and additional units responded to secure the area and provide assistance.
At least one person was confirmed injured in the crash. Paramedics were called to the scene as part of the upgraded response. The full scope of injuries and the total number of individuals involved have not been disclosed.
