Frequently Asked Questions
Does speed make a difference in how serious a crash is? Yes. Higher speeds give drivers less time to react and increase the force involved in a collision, which tends to mean more serious injuries and more vehicle damage.
Why is distracted driving considered so risky, especially around trucks? Large vehicles like semis take longer to slow down or stop, so a moment of inattention from either driver can close the gap between vehicles before anyone can react.
What should someone do right after a crash like this one? Move to a safe spot if possible, call 911, and get checked by a medical provider even if injuries aren't obvious right away. Exchange information with the other driver and take photos of the vehicles and scene if you're able.
What to Do After a Car Accident in Saint Cloud, MN
Anyone involved in a highway collision in Saint Cloud should prioritize getting checked out by a medical professional, since some injuries, especially from jolts or impacts, don't show symptoms immediately. Keep copies of any police reports, medical records, and photos from the scene. If a vehicle involved was a commercial truck, it can help to note the company name and any identifying markings before leaving the scene. Follow up with your insurance provider promptly and keep a written record of how you're feeling in the days after the crash.
