San Antonio, TX (February 20, 2026) – A major multi-vehicle crash involving a fire engine occurred on Friday morning, February 20, at the intersection of Marbach Rd and Military Dr W on the city’s west side. Emergency units responded to the scene around 8:30 a.m. after reports of a serious collision involving several vehicles.
Authorities said at least six vehicles were involved, including a Bill Miller Bar-B-Q box delivery truck and a blue Toyota truck. The crash was described as a sideways glancing blow that caused both the fire engine and the box truck to lose control in the middle of the intersection. A small concrete retaining wall stopped the fire engine just inches before it struck a nearby utility pole.
Three drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Police reported that the drivers of the box truck and the blue Toyota truck are expected to recover. The condition of the third hospitalized driver has not been released.
Crews worked to clear the wreckage and reopen the intersection following the crash. No other injuries have been reported; authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
