San Antonio, TX (January 18, 2026) – A devastating head-on collision claimed one life and left two others seriously injured Friday night on the Northeast Side of San Antonio. The crash occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. on January 17 in the 6400 block of Walzem Road, near Windsor Oaks.
According to police, the incident involved a white 2015 Hyundai Elantra and a red 2014 Toyota Camry, which were traveling in opposite directions at the time of the collision. The two vehicles struck each other head-on under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Emergency responders from San Antonio Fire and EMS arrived at the scene and confirmed that the driver of the Hyundai was tragically pronounced dead on-site due to the severity of their injuries. The driver and a passenger from the Toyota Camry sustained major injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Traffic in the area was disrupted for several hours as investigators worked to process the scene and determine the sequence of events that led to the fatal crash. No further identifying information about the victims has been released pending notification of next of kin.
