San Bernardino, CA (February 2, 2026) – A late-night traffic incident claimed the life of a male pedestrian in San Bernardino after he was struck by a vehicle along Interstate 215 South. The collision occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, at the Inland Center Drive onramp, an area with active freeway traffic during nighttime hours.
According to information released by authorities, the pedestrian was found lying in the middle lane of the onramp and appeared to have been struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on I-215. San Bernardino Fire and Rescue responded to the scene alongside emergency medical services and located the pedestrian unresponsive upon arrival. Fire personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures, including CPR, but despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash. The roadway was partially impacted as crews worked to manage the scene and ensure safety in the area.
