Concord, CA (February 2, 2026) – A deadly accident involving two vehicles was reported Saturday night in Concord, leaving at least one person dead. The incident occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. on westbound State Route 4, just east of the Solano Way on-ramp, according to information from the California Highway Patrol.
Details from the scene indicate that a white Subaru and a gray sedan were involved in the accident. Following the impact, the gray sedan left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch, while the Subaru stopped in the center divider. The severity of the collision prompted an immediate emergency response.
Concord Fire and Rescue arrived and located at least one individual trapped inside a vehicle. Firefighters worked to extricate the person and began administering life-saving measures, including CPR. Despite these efforts, authorities later confirmed that at least one person succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
It remains unclear whether additional individuals were injured in the accident. Traffic in the area was affected as crews worked to manage the scene and remove the damaged vehicles.
