San Diego, CA (January 25, 2026) – A serious vehicle crash on Fifth Ave in San Diego left one passenger critically injured Friday night. The incident occurred around 8:21 p.m. and involved a person who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
According to dispatch reports, Mercy Medic 11 responded to the scene under major trauma protocol. The unrestrained passenger was found unconscious and in critical condition. First responders began emergency treatment on-site, including ventilation support, before transporting the patient to Mercy Hospital with a reported heart rate of 130 and oxygen saturation at 78 percent.
The victim’s age and identity were not immediately confirmed, and no other injuries were mentioned in initial communications. The vehicle reportedly sustained significant damage, and fire crews had to assist with extrication efforts.
