San Diego, CA (January 31, 2026) – Emergency responders from San Diego Fire-Rescue rushed to the scene of a serious multi-vehicle collision that left two people injured near a busy coastal roadway.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:34 p.m. on January 30 near the intersection of Torrey Pines Rd and Hidden Valley Rd, a winding stretch near La Jolla frequently traveled by commuters and tourists alike. According to authorities, six vehicles were involved in the collision. The exact chain of events that led to the crash remains under investigation.
Medics and fire crews worked to assist those suffering from injuries after the collision. One individual had to be extricated from a vehicle by rescue personnel and was subsequently transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. A second person was treated at the scene for less severe injuries and released shortly after.
The roadway was partially shut down as emergency teams secured the area and began cleanup efforts. Police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine the cause of the crash and whether any contributing factors such as speed or road conditions played a role.
