San Jose, CA (January 24, 2026) – A pedestrian sustained injuries Friday evening following a vehicle accident near the intersection of Newbury Park Dr and North King Rd in San Jose.
The incident occurred around 7:18 p.m. on January 23. Emergency crews from San Jose Fire Department, including Engine 34 and multiple rescue units, initially responded to reports of a person trapped beneath a vehicle. Upon arrival, however, firefighters determined that the individual was not trapped and had already been removed from the roadway.
Engine 34 remained on scene to evaluate the injured pedestrian, identified as a 30-year-old male. He was not found underneath the vehicle, and no entrapment was confirmed. The situation was downgraded from a full rescue response, and other units were released from the scene.
The pedestrian sustained injuries in the crash, though the severity was not publicly detailed. Paramedics provided medical care on-site, and it remains unclear whether the individual was transported to a hospital.
