How Are Fatal Scooter Crashes Investigated?
Fatal crashes involving scooters and motor vehicles require investigators to carefully reconstruct the sequence of events. Officers examine vehicle and scooter damage, roadway evidence, skid marks, debris, and the point of impact to determine how the collision occurred.
Investigators may also review surveillance footage, interview witnesses, and analyze traffic conditions and driver actions to identify contributing factors. The findings become part of the official crash investigation and may assist in determining whether any traffic violations or other factors played a role.
