Safety Concerns After School Bus and Pickup Crashes
School bus crashes can require careful medical checks because students, drivers, and other motorists may all be involved. Even when children do not need hospital care, emergency units may still evaluate them for pain, shock, or hidden injuries.
Pickup trucks and buses differ in size, weight, and structure. A collision between these vehicles can send them off the roadway, especially at rural intersections where shoulders and ditches are nearby.
After a school bus crash, crews may focus on checking each occupant, controlling traffic, and moving vehicles from unsafe areas. Hospital evaluation can help identify injuries that are not obvious right away, including neck pain, back pain, bruising, or head injuries.
