What Happens When Vehicles Leave the Roadway on Highways
When a vehicle leaves the roadway, it can encounter uneven ground, ditches, or fixed objects like trees. These conditions can lead to rollovers or severe impacts.
Highway speeds often increase the force of a crash once a vehicle exits the road. Sudden steering or loss of control can make it difficult to recover safely.
Road design, shoulder conditions, and driver response all influence these situations. Once a vehicle enters a ditch, stability can be affected, increasing the likelihood of a rollover.
