Seattle, WA (March 3, 2026) – Three people were hospitalized after a two-car crash late Monday night, March 2, at the intersection of Aurora Avenue North and North 105th Street. The collision occurred just before 11 p.m.

Emergency units responded and found a blue Subaru wedged between a building and a gray Hyundai. The Hyundai was driven by a 30-year-old woman. The Subaru was driven by a 66-year-old man, who had a 58-year-old woman as a passenger.

All three were taken to Harborview Medical Center. The 66-year-old man was being evaluated for a serious head injury, while the two women suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses reported the Subaru was traveling southbound on Aurora Avenue North when the Hyundai struck it from behind at a high rate of speed. The impact reportedly pushed the Subaru 80 to 100 feet before it came to rest against the building. Police are evaluating the Hyundai driver for possible impairment.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as they become available.

We are thinking of those injured as they recover.

How High-Speed Rear-End Collisions Can Escalate

Rear-end crashes can become severe when the striking vehicle is traveling at a high speed. The force can propel the impacted vehicle forward, increasing the likelihood of additional impacts.

When a vehicle is pushed into a fixed object, such as a building, injuries may be more serious due to the sudden stop. Head injuries are common in these situations because of rapid forward motion.

Investigators often examine speed, vehicle damage, and possible impairment when reviewing overnight crashes.
