Why House Fires Can Become So Dangerous
Residential fires can spread quickly, especially in older homes or structures where flames can move rapidly through walls, ceilings, and other hidden spaces.
Smoke inhalation is often the leading cause of death in house fires. Thick smoke can fill a home within minutes, making it difficult for occupants to escape safely.
In some cases, residents may attempt to escape through windows when normal exits become blocked by flames or smoke. These actions can lead to additional injuries, including burns or trauma from falls.
Working smoke detectors, fire safety plans, and quick emergency response can play a critical role in reducing injuries and fatalities during residential fires.
