Faribault, MN (August 30, 2026) – A semi driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries after two Freightliner trucks collided on southbound Interstate 35 in Faribault. The Minnesota State Patrol reported the incident around 4:57 a.m. on Friday, August 28.
The crash occurred near milepost 59. A 2021 Freightliner semi was traveling northbound when it collided with a 2020 Freightliner traveling southbound in the southbound lanes. The 2021 Freightliner was driven by 27-year-old Abdullahi Abdinuur Aden of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was taken to District 1 Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 2020 Freightliner was driven by 38-year-old Abdi A Warsame of St. Paul, who was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and the roadway was dry when the collision occurred. The circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation.
