Vallejo, CA (June 24, 2026) – An injury collision involving two semi-trucks and several other vehicles was reported on Wednesday, June 24, near the State Route 37 and State Route 29 interchange. The first report was logged at about 12:06 p.m.
Initial information said two white semis and a black Honda sedan were involved. A later update listed two semis and three vehicles with heavy damage.
The westbound State Route 37 ramp to southbound State Route 29 was blocked after the accident. A SigAlert was issued at 12:33 p.m. due to all lanes being closed and delays expected.
Tow trucks were requested for several damaged vehicles, including a heavy-duty tow for a semi-truck. Reports also listed a black sedan with major rear-end damage, a light sedan with major all-around damage, and a red sedan with major front and rear damage.
Investigators are reviewing what led to the wreck. We hope anyone injured receives proper care and recovers steadily.
Why Semi-Truck Ramp Crashes Can Cause Long Closures
Semi-truck crashes on freeway ramps can take longer to clear due to the size and weight of the trucks involved. A damaged semi may need a heavy-duty tow, especially if it cannot be driven away safely.
Ramp closures can also create backups on connecting highways. Drivers may have fewer options for merging, exiting, or moving around blocked lanes. When several vehicles are involved, crews may need extra time to remove debris and damaged cars.
Vehicle damage can help investigators understand how the collision happened. Rear-end damage, front-end damage, and final stopping points may show the order of contact. Early reports often focus on blocked lanes, tow needs, and injury status before more facts are confirmed.
