Adams, MN (July 22, 2026) – A 55-year-old man was hospitalized after a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck in Mower County. The collision occurred at Highway 56 and Mower County Road 5 near Adams on Monday, July 20.
The Minnesota State Patrol said a Mack truck and a Kia Soul collided at the intersection, with the semi traveling northbound and the Kia traveling eastbound. The Kia driver, Peter Edward Gerber of Rose Creek, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after being transported to MCHS Austin.
The semi-truck driver, identified as Steven Joseph Fritz of Rochester, was not injured. Authorities reported no suspected alcohol involvement. The roadway was dry at the time of the crash. We wish the injured man a speedy and full recovery.
