Thomasville, GA (August 30, 2026) – Two back-to-back crashes on Friday morning left two drivers seriously injured on GA 111 in Thomasville. The first collision occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on August 28.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a 2022 Buick Encore was traveling south on GA 111 when it crossed the center line into the northbound lane and struck a 2014 Ford Mustang on its front-left side. The Encore then left the roadway, overturned, and came to rest on its roof. The Mustang spun around and stopped in the middle of the highway, blocking both lanes.
Moments later, an 18-wheeler traveling south on GA 111 collided with the disabled Mustang from the first crash. The second collision occurred only minutes after the initial wreck. Both drivers involved in the first crash were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
Additional information about their conditions was not immediately available. The investigation remains ongoing. We hope those injured receive the care they need and have a smooth recovery.
