Cerro Gordo County, IA (July 25, 2026) – One driver was injured after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Eagle Avenue and 310th Street in Cerro Gordo County at about 8:27 a.m. on Thursday, July 23.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, a 2016 Volkswagen Passat driven by Olivia Maxey-Ladson, 21, of Tacoma, Washington, stopped at a stop sign before entering westbound into the path of a southbound 2020 Ford Expedition on 310th Street. The Expedition was driven by Katlyn Vanderpool, 29, of Thompson.
The Ford struck the rear passenger door of the Volkswagen, causing airbags to deploy in both vehicles. Vanderpool and her 1-month-old child were properly buckled and were not injured. Maxey-Ladson was taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
