Worth County, IA (July 25, 2026) – Multiple people were injured, including a teenager who was airlifted to a hospital, after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 southwest of Northwood in Worth County on Thursday evening, July 23. The crash happened shortly before 5 p.m.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a pickup truck driven by a Wells, Minnesota man and an SUV driven by a Missouri driver were traveling northbound through a work zone. The pickup began merging and slowing down, and the SUV attempted to pass the truck before striking the rear driver-side bumper.
The SUV entered the median and rolled several times after the impact. All occupants of the SUV, who were from Missouri, were taken to MercyOne Hospital in Mason City for treatment. A teen passenger was airlifted to the hospital. The pickup truck driver was not injured. Officials continue to look into the crash and will provide more information once it becomes available.
