Milwaukee, WI (September 4, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision near West Silver Spring Drive and North Sherman Boulevard sent multiple people to the hospital on Wednesday, September 2. Emergency units arrived shortly before 8 p.m.

An eastbound three-wheeler was traveling on West Silver Spring Drive when it struck a vehicle making a U-turn. The three-wheeler then caught fire.

Both occupants of the three-wheeler, ages 18 and 19, were critically hurt and taken to a hospital. They remained in critical condition when the report was published. The other vehicle’s 70-year-old driver and 68-year-old passenger were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The circumstances leading to the wreck continue to be examined.

We hope everyone affected recovers fully.

Why Can Three-Wheel Vehicles Leave Riders Vulnerable to Serious Harm?

Three-wheel vehicles can offer a different level of protection than enclosed passenger cars. Riders may have less structure around them, leaving their bodies more exposed to direct forces during a roadway emergency.

Stability can also vary depending on vehicle design, speed, steering input, and road surface. Sudden turning movements may shift weight quickly, while limited protective space can increase the chance of severe trauma for occupants.

Fire adds another layer of danger because heat and smoke can make it harder to remain near the vehicle safely. Injury severity may also depend on restraint use, protective equipment, seating position, and the direction of force. These factors help explain why three-wheel vehicle occupants can face significant risks even during relatively brief roadway encounters.

2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
