Lompoc, CA (July 2, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash involving a Tesla and a white van was reported on Tuesday evening, June 30, on southbound SR-1 at mile marker 12.5 near Jalama Rd. The collision was first logged at approximately 6:07 p.m.
The Tesla caught fire following the wreck, and the driver was extricated from the vehicle. People inside the white van were also confirmed injured. Tire debris was reported on the road at the time of the accident.
SR-1 was closed in both directions to manage the scene. Emergency units from Lompoc responded, with one person later transferred to a Santa Barbara hospital. A tow truck was also requested, and a sig-alert was issued as the closure extended into the evening.
