Shreveport, LA (January 12, 2026) – A male driver sustained life-threatening injuries after his vehicle crashed into the back of a large truck near Kings Hwy late on January 11. The collision occurred shortly before midnight, with paramedics from Medic 4 quickly responding to the scene and initiating trauma care.
According to emergency medical reports, the man, believed to be in his 30s to 40s, was unrestrained at the time of the crash and suffered significant trauma to the chest, as well as a fracture to his left knee and lower leg. First responders described his condition as unstable, with a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) of 3, indicating severe neurological impairment. He was actively being bagged and treated during transport to the LSU Medical Center.
Paramedics administered advanced life support measures, including IVs, sodium bicarbonate, and epinephrine, while en route. The patient was immobilized and monitored closely as crews raced to the hospital with an estimated arrival time of under three minutes.
Authorities have not yet released the man’s identity, and the events leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
