Shreveport, LA (January 12, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a serious multi-vehicle crash on January 11 at I-220 westbound near South Lakeshore Dr in Shreveport. The incident was reported as a possible major collision involving a flatbed truck, a white vehicle, and potentially a third car heading eastbound on the Cross Lake Bridge.
Initial reports from the scene indicated that one vehicle was smoking and a person was bleeding from the eye. Dispatch confirmed that at least one lane of traffic was blocked, and emergency services were quickly mobilized to provide aid and manage the scene. Paramedics evaluated the injured parties, but the total number of people hurt and the severity of injuries have not yet been publicly confirmed.
Crews worked to clear the roadway and prevent additional hazards, particularly given the location on a busy stretch of I-220. Traffic was likely impacted in both directions as responders coordinated efforts to assist victims and investigate the cause of the crash.
An official investigation remains ongoing to determine how the collision occurred and whether speed, road conditions, or driver behavior contributed.
We extend our thoughts to those injured in the crash and wish them a full and timely recovery.
