How Hit-and-Run Crashes Involving E-Bikes Can Lead to Serious Injuries
E-bikes share the road with larger vehicles but offer little physical protection during a collision. When struck by a car, riders can suffer severe or life-threatening injuries due to direct impact with the vehicle or pavement.
Hit-and-run incidents can delay the provision of immediate assistance if drivers leave the scene. A quick emergency response is often critical to reducing injury severity.
As e-bike use increases in urban areas, awareness and safe driving practices are necessary to reduce the risk of crashes at busy intersections and highway access points.
