El Paso, TX (July 15, 2026) – Six people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning, July 14, near Loop 375 North and the eastbound lanes of Montwood Drive in Far East El Paso.

The collision occurred shortly after 11:20 a.m. According to the El Paso Fire Department, emergency units responded to a multi-casualty crash involving several vehicles. Six people were taken to local hospitals, including three who sustained life-threatening injuries. A medical helicopter was also dispatched to assist with the emergency.

The crash prompted the closure of all westbound lanes of Montwood Drive and northbound lanes of Joe Battle Boulevard for several hours. We are keeping those injured in our thoughts and wish them strength and a full recovery.

What Is Reviewed After a Multi-Casualty Highway Crash?

Crashes involving multiple vehicles and several injured people require an extensive investigation to determine how the sequence of events unfolded. Investigators may examine roadway evidence, vehicle damage, traffic conditions, and witness statements while documenting the final positions of each vehicle. Electronic data from the vehicles and available surveillance footage may also provide valuable information.

Major crashes frequently require temporary roadway closures to allow investigators to safely collect evidence and remove damaged vehicles. Medical reports and physical evidence are combined to help establish a timeline of the collision. Because these investigations involve numerous factors, it may take time before a complete explanation of the crash is released.
