South Bend, IN (January 14, 2026) – A collision involving a white SUV and a white box truck resulted in injuries on the morning of January 13 near the intersection of Walnut St and Western Ave. The crash occurred just after 8:00 a.m. and prompted a response from local fire, police, and EMS units.
Upon arrival, first responders located both vehicles and began assessing the scene. One occupant from the SUV reported leg pain and was evaluated on-site by medics. Authorities confirmed the individual was conscious and breathing, and treatment was provided at the scene.
Traffic in the area was briefly affected as crews worked to assist the injured party and begin cleanup. The exact circumstances of the crash, including which vehicle had the right-of-way, have not yet been confirmed.
