South Windsor, CT (January 29, 2026) – A fiery collision involving a car and a tractor-trailer occurred Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Rt. 5 (John Fitch Blvd) and Fitch Meadow Lane in South Windsor, leaving one person injured.

The crash was reported around 12:30 p.m. and resulted in a fire in the engine compartment of the passenger vehicle. Fire crews responded promptly and successfully extinguished the flames before they could spread further.

The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not reported injured. Authorities worked quickly to secure the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.

Traffic in the area was temporarily affected while emergency personnel cleared the roadway.
