Frequently Asked Questions
What usually causes motorcycle accidents?
Many motorcycle crashes happen when another driver fails to see the rider, drifts out of their lane, or misjudges distance and speed, especially at intersections or on two-lane roads.
Why do motorcycle crashes tend to cause more serious injuries than other crashes?
Riders have little protection compared to someone inside a car, so a collision that might cause minor damage in a car crash can cause severe injury or death to a motorcyclist.
How can drivers avoid turning into the path of an oncoming motorcycle?
Drivers should take a second look before turning or crossing a lane, since a motorcycle's smaller profile can make it harder to judge its speed and distance.
