Spartanburg, SC (January 9, 2026) – Emergency crews responded early on Thursday morning to a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on the Whitney Rd overpass near the North Pine St exit in Spartanburg. The crash caused significant disruption and required multiple fire units at the scene.
The incident was reported shortly before 2:00 a.m. and involved at least two vehicles, including a Jeep and a GMC Terrain. Initial dispatch audio indicated confusion regarding vehicle types and precise location, but responders confirmed the crash occurred on top of the overpass at exit 205C southbound.
Units from Whitney Engine 33 and Northside Engine 53 arrived on scene to assist with medical treatment and traffic control. One or more individuals sustained injuries in the crash and were evaluated by paramedics. The specific nature and severity of those injuries have not yet been released.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by Spartanburg County authorities.
