Why Multi-Vehicle Collisions Can Be Severe
Collisions involving more than one vehicle often increase the risk of injuries because forces from the crash are distributed across multiple occupants and vehicles. Side, front, and rear impacts can create situations where passengers are at higher risk of trauma.
Children and infants are particularly vulnerable in crashes, which is why proper car seats and restraint use are critical. Speed, angle of impact, and vehicle type all influence how severely passengers may be injured.
Emergency crews must respond quickly to multi-vehicle accidents to provide medical care and ensure the scene is safe, as crashes of this type can create hazards such as debris, leaking fluids, or unstable vehicles.
