St. Louis, MO (January 21, 2026) – A two-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 70 just west of the I-270 interchange left one man injured on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. on January 20. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2015 BMW 328i driven by a 28-year-old man from St. Louis made an improper lane change from lane three to lane four. During the maneuver, the front of the BMW struck the rear of a 2020 RAM 1500 that was also heading eastbound.
The impact left the BMW with total damage, requiring it to be towed from the scene by Superior Transport Services Inc. The RAM 1500 sustained only minor damage and was secured roadside. The 68-year-old male driver of the RAM, a resident of Florissant, was wearing a safety device at the time but sustained injuries.
Emergency medical personnel from the Central County Fire District responded to the scene and transported the injured man to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for further evaluation.
Trooper B.R. Cook led the investigation, with assistance from Cpl. C.R. Knox and the St. Louis County Police Department. Officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the improper lane change that led to the collision.
