St. Louis, MO (January 14, 2026) – A serious crash during the early morning hours of Tuesday led to two individuals being hospitalized after a vehicle overturned along westbound I-64 just east of Clayton Rd in St. Louis County.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m., involving a 2007 Chevrolet 1500 and a 2013 Hyundai Veloster, both traveling westbound. According to investigators with Troop C, the front right side of the Hyundai collided with the rear left side of the Chevrolet. This initial impact caused the Chevrolet’s driver to lose control, ultimately crashing into a concrete traffic barrier and overturning.
Ladue Fire and Rescue responded swiftly, providing critical medical attention to both occupants of the overturned Chevrolet. A 66-year-old male driver sustained moderate injuries, while a 62-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to SSM St. Louis University Hospital for further care.
The Hyundai Veloster sustained moderate damage but was driven from the scene. The Chevrolet, however, was extensively damaged and had to be towed by Terry’s Towing. Authorities confirmed that all involved parties were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing to determine whether any additional factors contributed to the crash. Morning traffic along I-64 was impacted for a time as crews cleared the wreckage and examined the site.
Our thoughts are with the injured individuals as they begin their recovery.
