San Diego, CA (June 19, 2026) – A University of San Diego student was killed early on Wednesday morning, June 17, after being struck by a San Diego Police Department vehicle in the Linda Vista neighborhood.
The collision occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Linda Vista Road near Goshen Street. According to authorities, the officer was traveling westbound when they felt an impact and stopped to investigate. The officer then located a man lying in the roadway and immediately provided first aid until additional help arrived.
San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The victim was described as a white male in his early 20s and was identified as a University of San Diego student. We extend our sincere condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.
