Summit County, UT (March 14, 2026) – A 13-year-old boy from Park City was hospitalized Friday night after being struck by a truck following a crash involving two e-motorcycles, according to authorities.

Officials with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred along Kilby Road near Park City, Utah. According to Sgt. Talbot, two boys were riding e-motorcycles together when their handlebars clipped, causing both riders to crash and fall onto the roadway.

Authorities said a passing driver stopped to assist and helped move one of the injured boys out of the road. While the bystander was helping, the second boy reportedly returned to the roadway to retrieve one of the e-motorcycles. Investigators said the teen was then struck by a passing box truck traveling along Kilby Road.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the 13-year-old to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not released additional details regarding the severity of his injuries. The incident remains under investigation by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

We hope for a full recovery for the injured teen.

Why Roadway Incidents Involving Small Motorized Vehicles Can Become Dangerous

Crashes involving smaller motorized vehicles such as e-motorcycles can quickly become hazardous when riders fall or remain in the roadway.

Roadways like Kilby Road in areas near Park City, Utah, may carry regular vehicle traffic, increasing the risk of secondary incidents if riders or equipment remain in traffic lanes.

Investigators reviewing incidents like this often examine vehicle movements, roadway visibility, and the sequence of events that occurred after the initial crash to determine how the secondary collision took place.
