Why Crashes Involving Emergency Vehicles Can Be Severe
Collisions with emergency vehicles often happen quickly and unexpectedly, as patrol cars may be traveling at higher speeds or responding to calls. The combination of speed, vehicle size, and sudden maneuvers can increase the risk of injury for all involved.
Investigators typically review vehicle damage, roadway conditions, witness accounts, and dash or body camera footage to determine how the crash occurred. Prompt medical attention is critical in these incidents to stabilize injured parties and prevent further harm.
