Quincy, MA (July 21, 2026) – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday night, July 19, on southbound Interstate 93. The collision occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. near Exit 8.
A rideshare driver had contacted police with concerns about a passenger. A trooper located the vehicle and attempted to speak with that person, who then left on foot before being hit moments later.
Emergency units took the pedestrian to a Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passing driver remained unidentified in the preliminary report. The right and middle lanes were closed while evidence was documented.
